An experience towards the discovery of lake Garda hinterland: local places and scents. The desire to experience comes from curiosity and the desire to get involved. The "Wine walking tour in Valtenesi" is a slow and active tourism experience between history and culture, immersing yourself in the panorama of the Garda hinterland. We walk through the vineyards to our destination: the winery. There the experience becomes sensorial with the tasting of local wine and specialties.
Itinerary
The tour begins in Polpenazze del Garda - Piazza Biolchi: the terrace overlooking the lake is our meeting point. From the square, we walk towards the hill over the medieval church of San Pietro in Lucone (14th century AC) and then again over the archaeological excavation of Lucone – UNESCO site (The finds from the excavation are kept at the Museo MAVS). The path through the vineyards shows us the shape of the basin of lake Lucone, reclaimed in the 16th century to make room for agriculture. The last stretch of the route takes us to the winery, where we enjoy the tasting from the top of the hill. Return on foot, partly on an alternative path. The itinerary is about 8 km long. Duration of the wine tour on foot: 4 hours wine tasting included.
Wine tasting
The tasting includes three wines and snacks of the territory. It will be the moment of the sensory experience of knowledge through smell and taste. The flavors of Valtenesi and the Riviera del Garda Classico doc Valtenesi wines are soft and balanced. Probably, we could say, they are consistent with the landscape that alternates uphill and downhill without ever exaggerating with the slopes. The same flagship wine of the territory, the still rosé is known as Chiaretto, is a manifestation of balance, starting from the color. The company's EVO oil will be part of the tasting.
